A finish, a prize, a give away, and stitching updates...

I have a list a mile long of things I need to put in blog entries (seriously...I had so many items and didn't want to forget, so I made a list!) and this entry will deal with my stitching-related items. The meme's, SBQ's, and Topic of the Week will follow in a separate entry...

~~~~~~~~~~
First up is my latest finish, Part 4 of the Checkerboard Mystery SAL. All that I had left by Sunday night was part of the 2nd house block and the entire flower bouquet block, which didn't take too long. I used the extra time to continue working on the border for Part 5, even though I didn't get it quite finished. I'd run out of steam and called it quits for the night.
Maryse has already released Part 5...it was actually in my Google Reader on Saturday night. I went ahead and pulled the flosses for the first few blocks, so it's all ready to go. Part 5 has a summery theme to it - flowers, more houses, and a cute little beehive.
Next up is the *beautiful* biscornu I received in the mail from Dawn. She had a give away in honor of her Blogoversary, and I was one of the lucky winners! She stitched me this gorgeous purple biscornu, complete with matching purple and sage green tassels, and I absolutely love it! It will definitely have its own place in my Basket of Smalls (once I get it lined), along side the pinkeep from Nic and the fob Carol sent me for my birthday last year.
And it smells heavenly! I don't know if she put a good smell'um in it or it's just what her house smells like. If her house does smell that yummy, then I want to know what she uses so I can make my house smell yummy, too!
Thanks again, Dawn. :-)
If you love pink, be sure to check out the awesome prize offering of pink flosses/fibers over at Stitch Pink. 5 different winners will get an assortment of 10 different flosses/fibers...hand-dyed, silks, ribbons, wool...and all in PINK!!
Just leave a comment on this post before May 15th to be considered for the drawing.
Finally, my personal stitching updates. I took Coq au Pins with me to Paducah and worked on it Thursday and Friday nights, then again on Saturday, its regular night, at home. I'm about halfway through the chicken part of it. I really like stitching it...the design is pretty, I love the look of the variegated floss, and I'm looking forward to finishing it into that cute little chicken.
I've also been working on my 4th of July squares for Fair and Square...almost finished with the design square already. I've got to come up with the signature square and pick up a couple more extra goodies, then it will be ready to go. I've also got to get going on my partner's gift for the Stitching Bloggers Birthday Group...still plenty of time before it has to be mailed, but I'd like to get it ready early and give it plenty of time to travel because it has a ways to go.
~~~~~~~~~~

The clock is telling me it's almost time for The Tot's dance class, so I better get going so I can get her leotarded up and out the door on time. Run run run...

Thanks for stopping by! Have a Happy Tuesday!
